Motor Carrier Safety Consultant & (Retired) North Carolina State Trooper
Barnes Safety & Consulting, LLC was founded in 2012 by J.P. Barnes, a North Carolina State Trooper from Nash County, NC.
J.P. is now a professional motor carrier safety compliance consultant since retiring from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol in 2021.
Spending his entire state law enforcement career in motor carrier safety and truck transportation compliance, J.P. served in a variety of roles during his almost 30-year law enforcement career.
He served as field training officer, CVSA field training evaluator, cmv post-crash inspector, cmv post-crash instructor, cmv instructor, CVSA in-service instructor, FMCSA in-service instructor, cmv intrastate rules & regulations instructor, training coordinator, firearms instructor, hazmat & explosives instructor, teaching a variety of truck transportation related courses across North Carolina.
